Lodge Pro-Logic P12D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Black, 7-Quart

Good, but not quite the usual Lodge standard
I've owned several other Lodge products, both natural finish and preseasoned. When possible, I've usually been willing to spend and extra buck or two to get the preseasoned version of a cookware, because they've been worth it. The preseasoned cast iron cookware comes pitch black, like someone has cooked 200 pounds of bacon in it. However, something is amiss with this 7qt Dutch Oven - it didn't meet my expectation of what a Lodge preseason cookware usually is.

When I got this Dutch Oven from Amazon, I was a bit shocked to find the finish was dark gray, instead of the deep black of evry other Lodge preseasoned item I own. But there were patches near the handle and rim of deep black coating. It seemed like something went wrong during the preseasoning process and that the coating had almost completely peeled off, leaving tiny remnants. There were several small pits on the lid as well. And the inside of the pot felt rough, not smooth like my other Lodge pans...

Excellent buy on a great Dutch oven
Just received this pot and have used it twice. It comes well seasoned and is a joy to use. Keep in mind that this pot is very heavy (approx 14 lbs) and the good sized handles are a welcome addition. I was somewhat concerned about reports of shipping problems...mine arrived in good shape and the Lodge box was in a larger box with air filled packing.

This pot joins five other cast iron pans and is as good a build quality as ones purchased 30 years ago.

Love the style
Love the design, but think this new thinner line of Lodge products may not be as good as the regular finish which is thicker and like the piece that my elders have passed down to me, which have been on many a cattle round up, camping trip or home table. Their new enamel line I love.

I own so many Lodge products and love the new Enamel Dutch Oven, in Patriot Red, and the 5 quart size which are better in my opinion than the French Le Creuset and Emile Henry pieces that I own. And its great to be able to buy 'American Made'.

And yes some of their newer items are being made in China now, which is sad. Check thrift stores, eBay for older products they have made. They are awesome. Just wish Le Creuset had the vibrant Lodge colours.

Lodge Pro-Logic P10D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Black, 4-Quart

Excellent Ergonomic Dutch Oven
A small correction maybe, but it is still an important correction. This is not a Lodge "Logic" Dutch Oven as the title suggests, rather it is a Lodge "Pro-Logic" Dutch Oven. This is important because the Pro-Logic line is the newer ergonomic and stylish cookware. I bought this as part of the 4-for-3 program, so I only paid ~$28 for it. My Pro-Logic Dutch Oven is easy to care for and it cooks well for a wide variety of foods. I also own the original Logic design. While my Logic Dutch Oven is great, this Pro-Logic one is slightly better. Specifically, I like the two changes in the Pro-Logic cookware. First, the edge of the Pro-Logic Dutch oven rises up from the bottom at a smoother/rounder angle, so it is easier to stir with a spoon. Second, the handles are made larger, so they are much easier to hold onto. This is especially important when using potholders or oven mitts. The cover is also different. In the Logic version, the lid has drip spikes. In this Pro-Lodge version,...

Pre-seasoned... fabulous.
What is not to like? I love to crank my heat up and get things going, splash the wine, sear the meat, try it with teflon and you end up with chemical soup.

This is good old fashioned safe cooking, from the stove top to the oven, no melted handles, easy clean up, will last longer than a life time. I feel more comfortable using the little handles to take the pan out of the oven, have not tried the swinging handle version.

This is a great product at a great price, I could not find it cheaper anywhere else but Amazon.

logic dutch oven
excellent product. use it for nyt no-knead bread. the lid fits snuggly, no sticking, no flaking, no problem. love it!

Wusthof Gourmet 8-Inch Cook's Knife

Lower quality than the Classic series
The Wusthof Gourmet knives are "stamped" out of a larger sheet of metal. The Wusthof Classic knives are "forged" and are therefore much stronger, more durable, and stay sharp longer. They also feel a bit heavier and thicker to me, which makes cutting easier. They're more expensive, but are worth it in my opinion. There is also a bolster (the thick metal portion joining the handle and the blade, which adds weight and balance and keeps the cook's hand from slipping) on the Classic Chef knife whereas this Gourmet Chef knife simply has a handle that curves into a finger guard, which is not quite as good.

Stamped vs. Forged
I've been buying and using Wusthof and Henckels knives for more than 40 years and thought I would add my 2 cents worth. Traditionally, non-stainless high-carbon blades were considered essential for the highest quality knives. Advances in stainless alloys have negated this tradition to the extent that it is hard to find a non-stainless high quality knife. Traditionally, drop forged was considered to be much superior to stamped for blades. To my knowledge, no Wusthof or Henckels knife is now fully drop forged. One can watch the knife making process online at both Wusthof and Henckels. The knives are formed from strip sheet metal spooled on a roll. Only a small portion of the knife blade is heated red hot and compressed and forged to form the bolster for the "forged" knife. The blades are then stamped to form their shape. The blades are then ground, tempered, and sharpened. These are very high quality knives, make no mistake; however, they are not necessarily better than this...

It's a Wusthof. Need I say more?
I have been wanting a Wusthof knife of my own for a long time but was always put off by the price. Most places I shopped for kitchen implements only sold these amazing knives in sets starting at $300. When I saw this knife for under $60 on Amazon, I had to try it.

It was worth every penny.

This is the best knife to try from Wusthof before committing to a set. I find myself going to this knife again and again when I cook because it has yet to fail me. I will say now to be careful when you first use it as I shaved one of my fingernails down when getting Top Chef zealous in the kitchen. Wusthof knives are the sharpest and most precise I've used. And this one is a perfect multi-purpose knife to have in the kitchen.

I look forward to purchasing more Wusthof knives to create my own set. If you're thinking about purchasing, do yourself a favor and get it. A great knife at a decent price.

Carbon Steel Wok Set: Round Bottom (wokring included)

Wok-some!
It is well made and it came with informative additional materials and all the extra stuff is nice too. Just don't forget to season it before using.
We bought it along with the Breath of a Wok book, and are very satisfied.
It's a wonderful, fun way to cook!

TMS 40-Inch Round Drop-Leaf Dining Table, Oak

Great for space saving
I was looking for a small table for my narrow kitchen. A friend introduced me to Amazon and she found this table for me! I love it because it folds down on both sides and if I were to have company I just lift the sides up (underneath those sides are wooden sliding boards, two on each side,that holds them up) and there is room. It is easy to assemble, and is great for the price. This picture is definitely not detailed enough.

A good product but nowhere to go if you have a problem
This is a great little table for our small condo and it even qualified for free super-saver shipping -- 2nd day air to Hawai`i no less! Despite the sketchy instructions it was easy to build with minimal patience and went together in about half an hour. It is relatively solid if you make sure to pull out the leaf supports *very* firmly to support the leaves when raised. The finish on top, especially on top of the leaves, is a little rough but will likely smooth out with use. The table is a real value, especially in limited spaces, when the leaves can be folded down and the table put against a wall or counter with a chair on each end, then moved out and opened if you have a couple of guests. It's much, much better than the folding card table we replaced with this.

*However* if you have a problem ... good luck. Our package was missing a screw. Just a single hinge screw for one of the leaves, but it's still a necessary item for full support. There is no contact...

Excellent quality for the price
I buy alot of boxed furniture that requires assembly. I've had good and bad experiences. Fortunately, this was a good experience. This table is very solid and doesn't look cheap at all. Assembly was a breeze. This product exceeded my expectations and I'm very happy with how it looks in my kitchen nook.

George Foreman GR26CBRD Family Size Plus Grill, Red

Awesome Grill
I love this I have one already it's works great it time for a new one the one I have now was purchased 2006 now it's 2013 and it's just now starting to wear out. I can grill six burgers at one time and grill four chicken breast at one time will as I grill at least three piece's of fish at one time as well. This grill does just what it says it can do and I love so much that I am buying another one well as it's great for traveling as well.

The grill came with NO instructions. Had to figure it out myself. Very pleased with grilling, but it would have been a safer product if it had a shutoff swiotch, preferably auto shutoff. It is not easy to clean, ecause the plates do not come off, and I presume it would be wrong to immerse it (no instructions again). It is perfect size for my wife and I, but I don't see how one could use it for a whole family. For example, The maximum number of burgers or pork chops that can be cooked at one time is two.

Bialetti Brikka 4-Cup Stovetop Percolator

Makes a GREAT cup of mocha.
I actually bought this for my wife for her birthday - but I think I enjoy it more then she does.

I know that this doesn't make "true" espresso but it comes mighty close in my opinion (i'm not much of a connoisseur, but I do love a good cup). In fact this is better then most any other espressos i've had! I love the coffee this thing produces! The first night I ended up drinking 6 shots of 'espresso' made with fresh Baba Budan beans and I still wanted more! I couldn't do it though because it was 1:00 in the morning and I was wide awake from drinking so much coffee.

Here are a few tips for you...

Make sure you have a Burr grinder. You want a fine grind (but not too fine) to get the most out of your coffee. Burr grinders can be quite the investment but well worth it. You will need a Burr grinder for any espresso machine anyways.

Make sure you have cups close by. This thing will suddenly shoot out coffee and if you're not quick enough you might...

I have both the 4-cup and 2-cup Brikkas, and I use both regularly. The last time I checked online a few months ago, both were available in North America.

They both can make an equally delicious espresso with a nice crema on top. It doesn't matter which one you use in my experience. You just have to have faith and keep trying them before giving up.

They are both "high maintenance" coffee pots compared to regular espresso pots. You can't just dump water & coffee in them and leave them on the stove for 5 minutes while you do something else. Brikkas are like fine pieces of art that need to be handled and pampered in special ways. Everything is a delicate balance, and you have to baby sit them during the whole process. But once you get the knack of it, you will get consistent results...and trust me, it is worth the effort. Here are 5 tips:

1) Just before assembling your pot with coffee, make sure the valve is not stuck. Jiggle it up and down a few...

Better with Brikka : )
The Bialetti Brikka makes the best Italian style espresso I've had outside of Italy - the flavor and texture will take you back to the piazza cafes. Add some warm milk and froth for a perfect cappucino (I bought the Nissan/Frabosk milk frother as well). I found the directions and method easy - with room for a little flexibility with amounts of water, coffee, etc. for your own individual taste. Making the espresso is fun - I love waiting for the "whooosh" telling me the delicious crema is almost ready to pour into my cup. Clean up is easy, and the coffee tastes better each time I use the Brikka. One of my best purchases for the kitchen.

Cambridge Silversmiths Tripoli 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

Great set for the buck
We bought this set at Target, but found it for the same price at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It was the best set we could find for the money. Very nice heavy stainless steel utensils. We were considering buying flatware from a thrift store, but you might as well be eating off plastic- cheap silverware will bend like crazy. This set is great; very durable, strong tines on the forks and a nice feeling in the hand. I was concerned at first, about the "smoky" area wearing off, or the shiney circles changing in some way, but a year later they're still in great shape, even after handwashing with an abrasive "sponge" (you know those green scrubbies...). I like the modern design and am planning and buying a second set, because these are a very timeless design and very durable, well-made silverware.

Lots of compliments
I purchased this set from another retailer, and I'm so happy I did. The design is great, and the quality is terrific, too. I consistantly get compliments from friends. I'm looking at buying an additional set and this is a superb price.

Very nice
This is a nice step up from the cheaper flatware you can find. A lot of other sets have that older look like your grandma's, but this one was just right for me. It's got a nice, somewhat modern design.

I've been looking for a porcelain over cast iron cook pot in this size for some time. I have a lot of Le Cruset, not just dutch ovens but other products as well, and one Staub dutch oven. These are the real work horses of my kitchen.
I love the black interior which requires less care than the white porcelain of Le Cruset. This is a good size to use as a steamer, a casserole, or a pot to reheat in. It's not large enough to act as a stock pot or soup pot, but it works well for reheating soup. And the yellow is a clear bright pretty yellow. The price was very good, and the package arrived very shortly after my order was placed.

I recently saw a review here on this juicer and had decided to shop some more. The reviewer had nothing positive to say about the juicer. After much shopping, I DID buy this juicer and am very happy I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is an excellent juicer. It is VERY easy to clean, unlike a previous review stated. All the accessories came with the juicer. You can even buy additional accessory packages for a very reasonable price.It can be put together in seconds. It takes 2 minutes to clean, yes even the filter. It came with a brush and I also have a toothbrush I bought for the same purpose. I recommend this juicer to everyone. The pulp is very dry, therefore you are getting every bit of juice! It will not work if you have not assembled it properly. It is safe, easy to clean and VERY QUIET, I was surprised by that!I was able to get 2 recipe books with it also. I do my own receipes, basically any fruit I can get in season. It is a excellent product, and durable!You will not be sorry.

A real deal juicer...
I am a first time juicer, i recently bought the Jack LaLanne Juicer. It is so wonderful, it is so easy to use. Cleaning is a snap, taking apart and back together is simple. This juicer does what it promises. the booklets that are included, have yummy recipes. I highly recommend this product.

And on a futher note, i would like to add. When you buy Jack LaLanne Deluxe Juicer, you should consider "The Juicing Bible", by Pat Crocker and Susan Eagles. It is the perfect book for beginners and for those u want to experiment. With the excellent juicer and helpful book, u cant go wrong, JUST HEALTHY!

Overall good juicer
I really like this juicer. It is very easy to use, and the pulp is reusable. The only thing I haven't liked is how difficult it is to find replacement parts. I have misplaced my blade, and haven't been able to find a place that sells replacement blades. The screen is a little hard to clean, but it isn't too big a problem. The screen brush really helps. It is a very sturdy machine, and the juice it makes is wonderful.

I've been looking for new dishes for about 8 months,and it took awhile, but I finally found the perfect set! The colors are great.But I had to go to Pfaltzgraff.com to get the soup bowls and the desert plates. Great dishes, buy them and you'll love them too!

I LOVE PISTOULET
These are the perfect dishes -- warm, cheerful, sturdy, whimsical. I love the colors! No, they don't match perfectly, but that is part of the charm to me. I have two sets - one blue and one red. They are so fun and happy looking. I ordered mine from another vendor, but they were packaged well, and arrived in great shape. If you want warm, happy dishes, you can't go wrong with Pistoulet.

I, like, the person who posted before me, had been looking for the perfect set of dishes for quite some time (try all of my undergrad years). All-Clad 59917 Stainless Steel Measuring Cups / Set of 5 Kitchen Accessories, Silver

Would give ZERO stars
Just like several other reviewers, my All-Clad cups rusted before I even got a chance to use them. Hand washed them with warm soapy water. Placed them on a rack to dry. Came back and they were RUSTED. This is ALL-CLAD for God's sake. ALL-CLAD!!! How dare they put their name on this junk. I am a professional cook and have a great deal of respect for all-clad, but after seeing this complete trash they're selling for near $50, I lost a great deal of respect for them.

Go with the MIU cups. At least those didn't rust on me before I even used them. In fact they've held up for years, have a warranty, and save you about $20. Don't even consider these. Seriously.

Awesome
You may be asking yourself "why do I need to spend this much on measuring cups?" And to that I don't have a good answer. But I got mine for Christmas and they're awesome. They're incredibly sturdy. I have a whole drawer full of cheap metal and plastic measuring cups that are either bent or broken. I don't think these will ever meet that fate.

Inside each measuring cup are measurement marks for the lesser measurements. For example, the 1 C measuring cup has a line where the 1/2 C mark is.

The only real disadvantage is that they don't stack too well.

"apples and oranges"
First off, the cups are excellent; heavy weight cast stainless and very nicely finished, but these come out of the same Chinese factories that produce dozens of other brands under contract and you can get the same quality level for half this price if you're willing to give up the All-Clad name. If you must have this brand be aware of the marketing strategies at work here. This set from amazon is about $50 (at the time of this writing) and contains 5 cups of "mixed" sizes (1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, 2/3 cup, and 1 cup). A 4 cup set (available at Williams-Sonoma for $30) contains the 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, 3/4 cup and 1 cup selection. W-S also carries a combo set for $39 that includes the 4 cups and the matching 4 measuring spoon set. Figure on about $9 W-S shipping and you're looking at 5 mixed sized cups from amazon or 4 cups and 4 spoons from W-S. W-S also carries another set of the odd size cups and spoons as an add-on for $30.

Ultimately I got the CIA set instead, but...

Awesome Candlesticks - Packaging Problem
First - these are awesome lead crystal candlesticks. They have incredible weight and are quite stylish. The design has the 4 corners of the of the base off set from the four corners of the top of the sticks because the crystal curves. Unfortunately, the box design is pretty standard. In shipping, the sharp edge of the top corners busted through the manufactures box and left indents on the amazon box. Luckily, no damage and they looked great.

Candlesticks beautiful but box beat up
This was a wedding gift. The candlesticks were beautiful once they were out of the box. Very impressive looking. However, the box had holes torn in it in three places and the edges were dogeared. Other than that I would highly recommend this item as a gift. I might get a pair for myself.

Bron Original Stainless Steel Mandolin Slicer

Great and infinitely adjustable
I have used many different slicers (V-type, diagonal) and this stainless steel Bron which I also own is my favorite by far. The Borner V slicer I own does not have legs and is thus unstable, it is okay for quick non-uniform shredding and slicing. This model has it's own legs so your two hands can focus on the cutting. If you simply pay attention to where the blades are (put the cell phone down), you shouldn't cut yourself. It has a sliding guard for the food to rest in which attaches to the mandoline (which in the picture of the item is shown attached upside-down) and I believe to be safer than the free floating guards of the others. One plus of the steel construction is absolutely true uniform slices which are produced, which has not been experienced with plastic slicers. If you have the money, it is a great investment that should last you your lifetime.

Easy to Use and Easy Storage
Realy happy with the perfomance of this mandoline so far. Had it for about 2 weeks now and it is way better than the last mandoline I owned. Of course it was a bit more expensive than the last one but well worth it to me. I saw one in local store at nearly double the price ($280.00) so $150.00 was a great deal.

The safety gaurd is easy to use and solid stainless construction. The last one I owned had a cheap plastic gaurd and it was not guided on rails like this one. The guided safety gaurd prevents slipping when cutting hard root vegetables and damaging the blade (or myself).

The blades for this one are all self contained on the madonline and rotate and lock into position. The straight blade is very sharp so be sure to raise the upper sliding surface above the blade to avoid cutting yourself when haddling/storing the item.

Storage - Really happy that all of the blades and the gaurd can store together on the machine. It looks good left out in the...

The Original for a reason, It just simply works!
After much research this was my first choice until actually using the de Buyer dicing mandoline form William and Sonoma. I knew I wanted a quality and versatile mandoline that would last for years to come as well as do the job with consistent results. I've used two other mandolines, the OXO mandoline and de Buyer dicing mandoline, this is the only one that will give consistent slicing thickness at 1mm or less thickness between slices as well as from one end to the other end of the slice (where most failed continually)

It's not made clear on amazon.com but this particular Bron mandoline come with the 10mm and 3mm julienne blades. 2mm blades would be nice sometimes but cutting 3mm x 1mm yields a similar cut that is nice in its own right. You can always purchase the blade set with the 2mm and (8mm / 4.5mm) blades separately. This brings me to a fantastic attribute to this mandoline. If you somehow break something you can purchase every single part separately...

All-Clad Stainless Fondue Pot with forks

I love this item......
Own alot of All Clad products and this is a new piece that I utterly love. Its a nice weight, hold the fondue of your choice at a perfect temperature via sterno which is not included. Each of the fondue forks has a different coloured 'button' on the end of each fork so you need not worry about knowing which is yours.

I also like the indentations on the pot where each fork can 'stand' which helps keep the forks from getting messy from sitting in the fondue mixture, or in the case of cooking meat allows the meat to cook thoroughly without sticking to the bottom of the fondue pot.

The stainless is easy to clean, and looks beautiful on my kitchen shelf between uses. Fondue has always been a fun thing in our home, and was never a 'fad'. It's a fun easy meal at least once a week, and a fun way to use left over vegetables, meat, pound cake etc. for dipping in dinner sauces and desert sauces.

While I am a huge fan of my Le Creuset collection and love that...

Awesome fondue pot
All-Clad does it again. Fondue pot is as functional as it is beautiful. The construction/quality of the pot is what you'd expect from All-Clad and I really love how the lid has the spots for the forks to rest so they don't fall into the pot.

Great S&Ps for Kitchen/Cooking Use
These are just right - not too big and not too small. And they're funky and retro and fun. They are intended for kitchen or stovetop use - not table use as one reviewer seemed to think. Having the handles is great when you're cooking and your hands are gloppy. Having to fill them from the bottom, is, of course, less convenient than the stainless steel type that unscrew from the top. But they seem to have improved the rubber stoppers since some of the other reviews written here - unless they're not all the same. Mine are substantial and fit very snugly. They are also a soft rubber and would not be breakable. We'll see ... .

I love Fiestaware - and I love these!! They are larger than I expected and very charming in a retro way just like Fiestaware. Beautiful. The tangerine color is awesome, not quite as bright as the online images.

Fiesta 2-Quart Serving Bowl, Black

Sunflower Yellow is Beautiful!
I collect both old and new Fiesta Ware and was thrilled to see the vibrant new Sunflower Yellow dinnerware. The color is wonderful; much darker and more golden than the "old" yellow. This bowl, particularly, is nice. Because it is not too deep, your dinner guests can see your favorite dish; because it holds two quarts, there's plenty to serve. Very lovely product that is easy to take care of.

I got two of these 2-quart bowls about the same time we got our grill. Good timing.

These large bowls are super for large items: big potatoes, clams, grilled vegetables (including ears of corn). The size and the depth makes it easy to transport items to and from the grill, as well as easy to serve from. In between food uses, they look nice with pine cones or large apples in them.

Indispensable!
This large round serving bowl from the Fiesta line is more than just a serving bowl....its a fabulous baker! I use these bowls for baking delicious macaroni and cheese as well as other casseroles. It is fully vitrified china that can be used in the freezer, microwave, dishwasher and oven without fear of breakage. This is heavy-duty stuff! Clean up is a snap! The hard smooth glaze makes cleaning with soap and water so easy. Nothing sticks! When you aren't using it in the oven its excellent for serving anything at dinner and even gets used for popcorn in front of the TV in this house. This piece is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any kitchen and will get so much use!

Oster 5712 Electronic 2-Tier 6-Quart Food Steamer, White

My new favorite toy...
I saw this steamer in an ad in Runner's World and just had to have it. Since going on the South Beach Diet, I've upped my intake of eggs, fish, chicken, and vegetables tremendously. And because I live an extremely active lifestyle, I never have time to wait for things to thaw before cooking. I was defrosting frozen meat and nuking scrambled eggs and frozen vegetables in the microwave everyday when I did some reading and found out that microwaving destroys over 90% of the healthy vitamins and nutrients in foods. Researchers have found that steaming is the best way to preserve nutrients if you have to cook a food.

This steamer gets the job done better than I'd ever hoped. While it does take a little longer to cook with steam than in the microwave or on the stovetop (add 5-15 minutes of cook time), it is a more hassle-free way to prepare food. You don't have to constantly check your food to see if its burning or stir it. No more exploding eggs in the microwave or rice stuck to...

Mold + BPA (synthetic estrogen) = unhealthy
This product would have been one step up from the previous generation of Oster steamers if it weren't for two major flaws. UPDATE: it's been years since my original review. I still don't understand why this product is still a top seller on Amazon when Oster (aka Sunbeam) still hasn't made any real fixes or improvements to this product line.

Excellent product
The Oster 5712 Food Steamer is an excellent buy. Yes, it is large but well worth it's size for a family of 5 vegetable lovers. It has all the features I wanted, such as; water level indicator, two steaming containers, and a timer. It also keeps the food warm after the steaming of the food is complete.I have used this product many times since it arrived. I have prepared complete meals at once. The clean-up is very easy and much less mess in the kitchen. No pots no pans. I have no complaints. I am very pleased with this product. It is stylish enough to place on the counter. I would most definitly recommend the 5712.

Fiesta 15-Inch Pizza Tray, Tangerine

A really big platter
This is a lovely piece by Fiesta--a rich warm color and the satisfying heft that you get with all Fiesta ware. Its a really big platter--make sure that you actually want one this big. I don't think its size comes across in the pictures (nothing for scale). Get out that tape measure and hold up 15 inches: is that really how big a platter you want? If so, order away! This will easily hold most large restaurant pizzas and is more than ample for serving a frozen pizza. Of course its also a great serving platter for a veggie offering; just plop a bowl of dip in the center and you're good to go.

Fiesta 15-Inch Pizza Tray, Shamrock

Exactly what I wanted.
Someone else reviewed that this was a huge platter and to measure to ensure that fifteen inches is what you want. However if you are making a pie larger than 12" you will need a larger platter than this one.

Like the other Fiesta platter I reviewed, they are measured in the factory by total length. So it is fifteen inches from outer lip to outer lip. The actual inside measurement of the platter, the part your pizza will be sitting on unless you want it going over the sides, is only 12.5". This is the perfect platter for making a 12" pie because it gives you just enough room to run the cutter all the way to the edge. If you are trying to be a pizza pro at home by making a fifteen inch pie, you need to find a larger platter or just serve it on the pan used for baking.

Dark Espresso Finished Wooden Wine Storage Tower

Looks pretty nice, quality is not great
I recently received this item. My review is essentially that it looks fairly nice and doesn't take up that much space, but the quality isn't great. My unit is a little lopsided and tilts to the side a but, basically leaning a little. There isn't enough weight on the bottom to give it any sturdiness.

The assembely wasn't too bad, took me 2 hours but probably can be done in an hour.

Overall, I am not completely dissapointed in my purchase, but would probably not purchase it again knowing what I know now.

Practical, Sophisticated Home Item
We are pleased with the wine rack. My wife put it together in less than an hour. The wood is real -- not fiberboard. You will find it surprisingly heavy even though it isn't very big.

On the top, we've hung six engraved glasses, with a small, round engraved lead vase on the shelf. In the wine slots, we've alternated bottles with memory items (small statuettes and figurines, a toy car and other knick-knacks). In the drawer, we've put wine supplies (openers and such).

Not all do-it-yourself furniture is this attractive, not at this price. As a value, you can't go wrong, and as a practical, yet sophisticated home piece, this is spot-on.

It looks better than expected. We chose it online, and, as with any furniture item bought online, we wondered about reality. Reality? It is a nice addition to our dining area.

I fully recommend the Wine Tower.

Excellent
The trick to assembly is not to tighten everything until you get everything into position .. then you tighten the screws.
It took a while, but then I realized all the parts are crafted specifically to fit one another. They are not made assembly line with sloppy fits. So they go together very snuggly if you do it right .. and nothing leans.
The cabinet fits right into the spot where I wanted it to go, and it looks good. I smiled when I put it into place and slid the wine bottles in ... and I make my own wine ... can't stand the stuff they sell and call wine these days.

This product is exceptional for the price. But it does take a little patience to get it together .. and then it's very worth it.

Masterclass Professional Icing Set

Excellent product for an excellent price!
I'm very impressed with this icing tool! I use it for making cupcake bath bombs, and it works great! I was looking for an icing tool that was mostly metal, and that would be durable enough to use with my cookie dough consistency "icing". This tool does the job and then some!

Plus, if you look at the Wilton icing tool you can't get nearly as many tips or cookie forms as you can with this one! With Wilton you have to choose between an icing tool or a cookie press, but this is two in one which gives excellent versatility!

Strong, lots of options, basically perfect
I had the P*mpered Ch*f version of this prior, and was SUPER disappointed in the quality of that item (being all plastic, one of the rings broke within a couple of months, meaning that every time I used it I have frosting leaking out the side and making a huge mess). This professional set is just that, professional. It's very strong and well constructed (nothing has broken and it certainly seems as though it will last a long time, not to mention you can squeeze cookie dough from it, so it has to be strong). There are lots of options for icing and cookie shapes. And it's very easy to clean. I'm really happy with this purchase (AND it arrived fasted than estimated, which was a bonus)!

All Clad Stainless Kitchen Helpers

First of all, this set is NOT the made-in-USA All-Clad, which is made in Pennsylvania in a special factory with special materials, but is made in China for All-Clad. The pieces are small, with no lids, and no lids are available. This is a freebie that comes if you buy a set of "the other" All-Clad. Probably an experiment to see if China can do as well as the USA.

That said, the pieces are smaller than the usual smallest All-Clad pieces. Remembering that you can never fill a cooking pan brimful, you should count on a capacity of only a few cups in these "helpers." They are just about right for heating up a small portion of something if you live in student digs.

Great set, great gift
We have a lot of All-Clad pieces and when I first saw these I couldn't believe the price. Another reviewer mentioned they are made in China for All-Clad. I've used All-Clad for many years and these seem to be as well built as the USA versions. A lid IS available for the sauce pan, just buy a 1 or 2 quart sauce pan lid. The pieces are a little small, but I use they for many things.

The price is right for giving as a gift. Each pan is in it's own box inside a bigger, so they can be given as two gifts.

I highly recommend these pans.

Wow - I never had cookware that performs this well!
I just recently received this set as a gift from my wife. I'd been talking about updating some of the accessories in our kitchen and cookware was one of the things I couldn't decide on. We've had Farberware for 20 years and been mostly satisfied with its performance - but I really wanted something a little more sturdy. So when these showed up I was excited to try them out. My experience so far leads me to believe that these things will last forever if you take care of them. I find that they fit the way I cook and are really easy to clean - if you follow the directions. I couldn't be more impressed.

We have been using these glasses for over 15 years. They are very well made but we occassionally have to replace one. These last replacements did not match the previous glasses. The pattern is less complicated. However, I will continue to order the replacements as it is not noticeable unless the glasses are side by side.

Riedel O Chardonnay/ Viognier Wine Tumblers, Set of 2

Excellent all purpose white wine tumblers
Riedel crystal has always been the best brand of glassware for tasting and drinking wine, so I was excited when they came out with stemless wine tumblers. (With Riedel wine glasses, the stem is always quite fragile, and usually the first part to break, so I do not miss it that much). That said, the chardonnay/viognier tumblers are the closest in the O collection to being all purpose white wine tumblers. These are great especially for pinot grigio, chardonnay, viognier, and most other white wines. These are even good for sauvignon blanc and riesling, if you do not want to buy the tumblers specifically marked for those wines. The only white wines that I have found really need a different shaped glass are sweet wines such as Sauternes and icewine - I did not think that they brought out the bouquet in these as well as they might have.

Some wine experts might be concerned about warming these tumblers when they come in contact with your hand, but I have not found this to be as...

Excellent little wine tumblers
The Riedel O Series wine tumblers are a great value and more practical for many occasions than traditional wine glasses because they lack a potentially fragile stem. These Pinot Noir/Nebbiolo glasses are great not only for those two varietals, but also for Beaujolais and other wines made from the gamay grape. I also happen to think that these could work as "general purpose" red wine glasses, if you should so choose to use them as such. These are great for all but the most formal occasions, and should really enhance your wine tasting experience, whether you are a wine novice or an expert taster.

Exceeds Expectations
These are essentially the bowls from the professional quality Riedel Vinum glasses produced without stems. By doing without stems you get a glass that neatly fits in the dishwasher, and save about $10 per glass compared to the stemmed Riedel. I have been using these for several months and they are fabulous. They really gleam, right out of the dishwasher. Best of all, the rims are thin and smooth, which is the luxury feel that premium glassware is all about.

If you are wondering which to buy as an "all purpose" red glass (a term Riedel despises), I prefer the syrah glass over the cabernet/merlot, even though I drink mostly cabernet. The syrah glass is just a bit taller and more graceful. But the difference is minor.

I have been a wine "nut" for over 20 years, and these glasses are the answer to my glassware prayers! Buy them, and feel safe using them daily. They will improve the enjoyment of every wine you drink, from Gallo to Lafite

I purchased 8 place settings 5 months ago and I am very satisfied with this product.
My family of 5 uses it daily. We wash them by hand and/or in the dishwasher daily.
The finish has not dulled nor does it stain easily at all. I would definitely recommend this pattern to a prospective buyer. It has a very shiny/glossy finish
and I chose it for it's contemporary/simple style.

The picture of this set of flatware really does not do it justice. I have three sets of this pattern that I use for my 'fancy' dinners. The quality is fabulous- the knife is all one piece (this is something to look for when buying a good set of flatware), it is heavy, smooth, shiny, and feels comfortable in your hand. This is also a great price for this product- I found the same exact pattern elsewhere and it cost $120 for a 20-piece set.

Cuisinart CFO-3SS Electric Fondue Maker

Some great design with some serious drawbacks
Being a fondue lover, when I first saw this new Cuisinart electric fondue maker, I had an "Aha!" moment, and purchased the pot looking forward to a future of only using those smelly little sterno cans for nicely subdued pink outdoor lighting, (yes...I am kidding), instead of heating my food. At first blush, this Item has some great features. Large pot, detachable cord, easy clean nonstick interior, full immersability and variable heating temperatures. Now for the bad news. The pot does not detach from the ever so immense and functional stand, making it a very large pot indeed. difficult to store, almost impossible to refrigerate in newer center split refrigerators that have smaller shelf space....like mine. Tres cumbersome. The cord is extremely short, almost always calling for an additional extension cord. Fabulous if you like that industrial look while dining or entertaining, unfortunate if you don't. The worst flaw? The tendency to heat unevenly dang it! Because the heat is...

Worth every penny... Never going back to sterno again!!!
If you like fondue, but find Sterno fuel a pain to use, not to mentioned potentially dangerous... you will love this fondue pot... Just plug it in, turn the knob to the setting you desire and put in the make fondue! Couldn't be easier!

While the power cord is rather short, just get an extension and all is right with the world... And for those concerned that someone tripping over the cord could cause a big mess... forget it... The cord has a megnetic connector that holds it to the thermostat, which incidentally unplugs from the pot itself for cleaning, If someone were to trip over the cord, it just comes undone and all you have to do is set it back in place and the magnet reconnects it... Brilliant!

Oh, and the non-stick surface is great... Those old ceramic fondue pots were a chore to clean... Just wipe this one out with a soft sponge with soap and water and your done!

Yes, Fondue is back and this pot could keep it here to stay this time around!

Since introducing my kids to the joys of fondue for dinner last summer, they've wanted to have fondue for every special occasion. After borrowing a friend's Rival fondue pot, which is similar to the Cuisinart one, we decided to buy a second pot since one wasn't quite enough for 5 hungry people trying to cook two items at once! Since my brother-in-law wanted to get us a Christmas gift, I told him to get the Rival one since it's cheaper (I didn't feel right asking him to spend more money on the Cuisinart since my friend's Rival pot was fine when we used it for chocolate fondue and my Cuisinart for the oil-based meat course). Well, the shrimp and steak stuck to the bottom of the Rival pot once it reached temperature, but it never did with my Cuisinart! It cleaned up just as easily, but it made me wish we'd asked for another Cuisinart. If you are choosing between the two, definitely go for Cuisinart! In the meantime I will be researching how to keep meats from...

I'm really enjoying my new Blown Mexican glass pitcher in Lime Twist. While 98oz is advertised, it will actually hold closer to 110oz. This is a beautiful pitcher, and will make a great compliment to my tabletop this coming holiday season.

The artistic detail in the handle of pitcher cannot be appreciated in a photo. The section of the handle shown as darker green is actually covered by a layer of the lighter shade of green glass. Beautiful.

Sanyo EC-503 3-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Vegetable Steamer, White

Good cooker for singles
I must say this is my first cooker, and I chose a small one since I'm single. I found it handy to have the meal ready and warm when I come home for lunch breaks (I live close to the office), or in the evenings, when I'm tired and don't feel like cooking. The cooker has a cook mode and a "keep warm" - once the cooking is done it switches to the latter and the warm food awaits you to arrive home!

I found the instructions regarding how much water to use (depending on rice quantity) to be a little on the low side - the rice I got was somewhat dry for my taste. I also used it to cook other grains - quinoa and millet (BTW, the I millet I get with the cooker is the best I've tasted so far). Learning from the rice experience, I now put more water, actually I use more water than if I would cook in a pot!

If you stick to the grains/water proportions, you have no problem with making a mess in the kitchen. If you use (much) more water, you might see the lid and the area...

Note that the "3 cup" size is not your typical 8oz. size. The one supplied with the rice cooker and is to used following their directions, is a 6 oz. cup. So, instead of having 3 cooked cups of rice, you only get 2.25 cups of rice. Other than this, I found the cooker works very well.

Whatever did I do without one?
We love our rice cooker. Honestly, I haven't tasted rice this good anywhere on the planet. And what it does to sweet potatoes you wouldn't believe. There's only one problem. There's only two of us, so I got the small, 3-cup cooker. I can only add 2 cups of liquid, so I can't make what would be 3 cups of rice, or it will boil over. Get one with more capacity, unless you live alone.

300 120V 50Hz Timer

I first received the 400 model instead of the 300 model Gralab timer. It did not perform per my requirements. So my original purchase was returned and refunded within a day and two days later I received correct model. It works great, I can hear the buzzer over the ventilation exhaust fan & my background music. Great service, great product.
