Panasonic SR-G18FG Automatic 10 Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker

Excellent so far...
I am very pleased with this purchase. First of all, the non stick surface is safe, healthy, and works excellently! When I cooked my first batch of rice with this cooker I was surprised that the manual calls for a 1 to 1 ratio of water to rice. With my previous experience I thought that this was absurd and that the rice would not be cooked thouroughly. I followed the instructions and the rice was cooked to perfection! I have not used the cooker for anything else besides rice, but so far I am very pleased! It is not only much safer to the health (i.e. no aluminum in contact with the food) but the clean up is much much easier!!!

Good rice cooker
I am Indian and I cook not only rice, but also dal (lentils) along with some spices etc. in this rice cooker. I have used many rice cookers before and I will say this has done a pretty good job at cooking anything I threw at it. I cooked white rice (Indian Sona Masoori), Basmati rice, Brown rice, Brown Basmati rice, Jasmine rice, Cal rose rice, wild rice, masoor dal (Red lentils), toor dal (Yellow lentils), chana dal (Split chick pea lentils), etc. This has done a great job at perfectly cooking everything. I know it because I grew up cooking different kinds of rice and lentils. But anyone can understand the correct ratio with a little trial and error. 1:2 ratio is a good place to start.

Having said that, I will give this only 3 stars because of the following reasons:

1. The non-stick coating inside the steamer bowl is not of the...

Great rice cooker
I had used a Panasonic rice cooker that is similar to this one. It worked great for nearly 10 years and finally the non-sticky layer was worn out, so I bought this SR-G18FG 10 Cup Rice Cooker/Steamer. It works great so far just as I'd expect. I would definitely recommend this one to others.
